A creamy, tropical post-workout recovery drink loaded with protein, fast-acting carbs, and anti-inflammatory compounds to help muscles rebuild fast.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 millilitres coconut water

  • 100 grams fresh or frozen mango chunks

  • 1 tablespoons scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)

  • 0.5 teaspoons ground turmeric

  • 0.3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoons chia seeds

  • 3 ice cubes

STEPS

Load the blender: Add 300 millilitres coconut water, 100 grams fresh or frozen mango chunks, 1 tablespoons scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based), 0.5 teaspoons ground turmeric, 0.3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoons chia seeds, and 3 ice cubes to a blender.

Blend until smooth: Blend on high for 45–1 minute until completely smooth and creamy.

Taste & adjust: Taste and adjust, add a little more honey if you prefer it sweeter, or a squeeze of lime for brightness.

Serve immediately: Pour into a tall glass and drink within 45 minutes of finishing your workout for maximum muscle recovery benefits.

NOTES

Why it's great for athletes: Coconut water is nature's electrolyte drink, providing potassium, sodium, and magnesium without artificial additives. Mango delivers fast-acting carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores after intense training. Protein powder kickstarts muscle protein synthesis in the critical post-workout window. Turmeric (curcumin) is a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps reduce DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), while chia seeds add omega-3 fatty acids for joint support.
