A zesty, natural electrolyte drink packed with sodium, potassium, and vitamin C — perfect for post-workout recovery and rehydration.

Servings

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 milliliters cold water

  • 120 milliliters fresh orange juice

  • 30 milliliters fresh lemon juice

  • 0.3 teaspoons sea salt (fine)

  • 1 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup

STEPS

Juice the citrus: Squeeze 120 milliliters fresh orange juice and 30 milliliters fresh lemon juice into a large glass or shaker bottle. Remove any seeds.

Mix the base: Add 500 milliliters cold water, 0.3 teaspoons sea salt (fine), and 1 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup to the citrus juices. Stir or shake well until the honey fully dissolves.

Add optional minerals: Stir in 0.3 teaspoons magnesium powder (optional) if using — this boosts muscle recovery and reduces cramping.

Serve: Pour over ice and enjoy immediately, ideally within 30 minutes before or after your workout.

NOTES

Why it's great for athletes: Orange and lemon juice deliver potassium and vitamin C to combat oxidative stress during exercise. Sea salt replenishes sodium lost through sweat, preventing muscle cramps. Honey provides a quick-release carbohydrate for fast energy. Magnesium supports over 300 enzymatic reactions including muscle contraction and relaxation.
